Tickets or said tour were sold out in 24 hours. The same year as their debut, the boys went on a North America tour. Their song "Crown" made it to GQ's Decand-end list titled "The game-changers from a decade of K-Pop" and were included in 2019. The group is a commercial success, winning their first ever music show just a week after their debut. They were dubbed as "Monster Rookies" due to their massive populairty despite having just debuted, as well as for their difficult yet synchronized choreographies that are acknowledged by K-Pop fans across the globe. Their debut song, "Crown," topped the World Digital Songs, leading TXT to be included in the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart. Additionally, it entered the US Billboard 200 at number 140, which is the highest-charting debut album by a male K-Pop group. Upon debut, their first extended play debuted at the top of the Gaon Album Chart and Billboard World Charts. The group gained attraction from fans both in the East and the West for being Big Hit Entertainment's first boy group since BTS. In January 2019, Big Hit Entertainment uploaded teaser videos of each member to their YouTube channel, which they called "introduction films". A date was given for their debut in 2018. Prior to their debut, Big Hit Entertainment founded Bang Si Hyuk had announced plans for a new boy group as early as 2017.
